Sunsets at the Farm

As the sunsets on Lakewood Farm , we'd like to thank you for taking time
to check out our family of horses. We truly believe they are a gift from God!
Hope our trails meet some day at another sun raise.

" I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength"
Father, everything I have is Yours. Help me to use it wisely.

                                                                   In Jesus' Name, Amen

Travelers Prayer

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of His hand.

Breeding Arabs

for close to 30 years. We bred for confirmation, companionship and temperament.  Many of our horses have already proven themselves in show, endurance and in the working world.

Lakewood Farm

Ted and Wanda meet on Dec 19, 1980.

During a 2 yr courtship we learned we both loved bluegrass music, the mountains and horses. In 1988 Ted purchase our first Arabian. stallion Ahshah.  He would become my heart horse. We averaged 6-10 foals yearly. We pride ourselves that all would lead, pick up their feet, load in a trailer, clip prior to leaving our farm.

In 1993 we started crossing the Arabs with paints. We opened our farm up for boarding. We soon out grew our farm  so began the search for a larger place. We leased farm in Smyrna in 2002. We were able to purchase it in 2004. In 2008 Ted retired to go into full time farming. In 2010 we started taking in rescues. Over the course of the last few years we have helped over 100 horses. While the pay isn't that great the rewards of seeing them return to good health and mind have been awesome!!
